    And no, the Prodigal Son is not named in the parable. In Hebrew, there are essentially two words for "son", though, "Ben" and "Bar". These are the "titles" associated with names, as in you'll see "Simon bar Jonah" and "David ben Levi". In the first case, it indicates that Simon is the firstborn son of Jonah, and hence the heir apparent, while David is the son of Levi, but not the firstborn or the designated heir.

    Thanks, Hoomi. I like to learn new things. I considered naming him "Prodigy" as a compromise, but woke up the next morning thinking about Little Bo Peep, so that's what I went with.
