PICS from the POMONA SUPER SHOW 1/7/12 (HUGE DUW)

We asked how much the Banana Male (F3) I think they call it, the one that throws mostly males. He responded $65,000. Yah, I almost choked on my chewing gum.

Um, ok.... I get the point of the prices and I understand how the market works. I get that the breeders of the new morphs need to make back the investments before the prices drop.

It is funny because it is so far outside the budget of a hobbyist like myself, that as much as I would like some of these beauties it is not happening. Do not get me wrong, I love getting to see them, and I look forward to when they are in my price range. I hope to have a Banana Enchi one day.

Either way this thread was not intended to be a one sided argument on pricing. If you cannot see why some of us find 60K shocking for a pet snake (regardless of market dynamics), folks need to relax. If another breeder is willing to pay to get the bloodline, good on them. Not all laughing is a bad thing, but if anyone is offended by my choice of word, I apologize :confused:.

I'm not offended, some things are overpriced no doubt. I apologize if I was short, I just want people to understand that it takes money to make money and the ball python industry is great! Prices can seem crazy, but when you see the return from your investments, it's a wonderful feeling. No hard feelings, and thank you for posting pictures from the show! There was a ton of cool stuff. Here is a picture of the trick lesser. I really likes him because he was different. Amazing pictures! Thanks for the glimpse into the show world. I talked to someone who had been there and he said it was amazing. I've got to make time to get to one of the ones coming up.

Anyone else notice the ringer/pied thing going on with the black pastel champagnes? Is this common knowledge and im out of the loop or is there some pied in there and nobody mentioned it?

PS Awesome snakes. I feel like up here in canada we havent got some of those cool morphs yet. Someday maybe.

I think there are a lot of Champagnes that are ringers. The Black Pastel may really bring it out.
