    I hope he pulls through.

Unfortunately a lot of vets are like doctors. No specialties and generalize all cats and dogs and don't know a lot about small animals. Yuck. I always have issues about feeding with my vets because they go with big name brands that pay them to advertise and the nutritional value just ISNT there. This is no better, in fact its much worse. To just rip off a mouse trap when I could have thought of many better ways to remove it despite the fact that I only went to school to be a vet for 2 years before changing my major.

Yes that's muscle. It's pretty terrible. I felt so bad for him.Shaun forgot to mention...He also has some bubbles under his scales underneath. I'm hoping that's not scale rot.

Hey, let us know how he progresses! I am sure we would all love weekly updates and pics :P
Kinda want to go see what petco has in their back room now... I know petsmart gives away animals that are injured, I had a lady tell me that they had an eyeless goldfish they were giving away. Poor animals.

He is doing better. I just helped him shed for the first time since the incident. Looks better. I will post pics after I get off duty tonight.

I like Elmer too! Yes it's dark but it's a homage to where he's been and what a strong little guy he is.

If you don't like Elmer something in reference to him being a fighter, strong, brave, etc. would be good.

Good luck! This is a great thing you're doing.

So glad you are taking him in and caring for him, I'm sure you will pull him through this! Everyone's advice has been spot on, so I'll only add a name suggestion.
