You didn't "get reamed out" because you put a snake in with a snake. Your husbandry was brought into question when 1) you did not quarantine, 2) you made light of the necessity to quarantine and 3) you were/are co-habitating snakes.

Yours are beginner's mistakes and nothing to get so worked up over. An error was pointed out in your husbandry. You can either choose to correct it and move on or continue to argue over it and not get anywhere. :confuzd:

If they lock up will she have egsg??
Well i had a breeder who has been doing this for a number of yrs check the snakes sex and the pastel is male and the normal is a female.my question is since they locked up will she have eggs.i herd from diff people that she will and some said she wont because it only starts in oct.the way i look at it if they locked up then she can become pregnant and will have eggs.

    +1000000 on preparing for eggs.

Truth is, she may or may not become gravid and lay eggs. Just because she locked doesn't mean she'll lay eggs, or that the eggs will be good eggs.

However, just like in humans or any other species, if they're locking up, there's a chance of becoming gravid and laying eggs. The chance is actually a good chance.

As for the October thing, that's a joke, from what I keep reading. Breeder after breeder answers your type of question over and over with the fact that they breed year round. In fact, many are hatching clutches nearly every month of the year. IN THE WILD, they typically lock in the fall, build in the winter, and lay in early spring. But your habitat is not the wild. Likely, your snakes were captive bred and hatched. They've never been in the wild. If they feel they're ready to breed, they'll breed, regardless of the time of year...

I'm not all that convinced that breeding is most successful in the fall and winter. It's not my experience, and others say it goes year round. That being the case, I'd prepare for eggs well before they come. Get the incubator set up, tweaked, and completely ready. Good luck on your pairing, and above all, have fun with it!

100% het x 100% het gives each egg a 25% chance of being the visual morph. I'd definitely recommend raising your female to a good size before pairing her with the other het so that she may produce a larger clutch (and increase your chances at getting the morph you want).
