Pfft...iPhone.
Overhyped, overpriced crap is what that is. Too many good phones out now to think about the iPhone. Back when it first came out, sure, revolutionary. Now? ASF chew toy.
Plus, when I turn my phone on and it goes 'Droiiiiiiiiiid'...its a special time.

It's all about personal preference. In the last year I've had a Nexus One, HTC Aria, Dell Streak, Samsung Focus, HTC Surround among some others. I used them all as my regular phone for a good amount of time and I prefer my iP4 overall. I also have a rooted Samsung Captivate running the latest Cognition Rom and it doesn't even come close.
I will be checking out the HTC Inspire and Moto Atrix when they come out. I'm a big Android fan, but the iP4 keeps sucking me back in. I wouldn't call them overpriced as iP4 starts at $200 which is in line with most high end Android devices and the 3GS is $49 and still runs smoother than most phones.

Somehow, as impossible as it seems, Droid fanboys are worse than iphone fanboys.

Of those customers who switched or plan to what are your thoughts on the rumor that Verizon will limit the device to operating in a data or phone capacity but not allowing both at the same time??
Also their plans to limit bandwidth as well as alter content to low quality in-order to "maintain network stability"
Quote:
The throttling policy will impact only a small number of users: Verizon claims only the top 5 percent of data hogs will be throttled. (AT&T also previously claimed that a small number of users were hogging a massive amount of network bandwidth before it dropped unlimited data.) But the “optimization” method involves caching less data and resizing video, which “may minimally impact the appearance of the file as displayed on your device” — and that affects every Verizon customer.
So basically talking on the phone and surfing the web while possible on AT&T isn't going to be possible on the Verizon iPhone.
Thoughts?

Well it's no rumor. CDMA technology doesn't support simultaneous voice and data. Their LTE devices will though. The biggest thing with that is the mobile hotspot. Say you are uploading files on your laptop using the hotspot and you get a call. It will drop your data connection and you will have to start all over again.
I use my iPad connected to my Captivate using hotspot when I have band practice and sometimes at work. My wifi at work is horrible so my hotspot is 5x faster. I use it to stream Netflix to the iPad and if I get a call I can just pause Netflix and take the call and restart without skipping a beat.
There are also times when speaking to my boss and he will send me an email. I can open the email, respond or open attachments all without hanging up. That's convenient and there's no arguing that.

I haven't had any issues with mine, coming from the droid x I kinda miss the big ole 4.3inch screen but other than that it's a good phone, it runs strongly And fast. And I'm making really good use out of the Ffc. Skyping with my folks, tango with my buddy's stationed over seas, and general pics for Facebook with the wife.
I used to be an android guy but I think apple just stole me away from the droid army.

Re: So who is planning to switch to Verizon for their iPhone?
Hmmm, I surf on my phone and talk at the same time all the time. And it's a CDMA phone.

If you are on wifi you can do both at the same time. Can't do both together on just CDMA.
