Re: Spouse's/Significant others and you herps...
My husband has zero to do with the snakes or the feeders. It'd be nice sometimes to have an extra set of hands to help clean, but I'm just happy he's so supportive given his fear of them.

I don't even have to ask before I buy a new snake. He shares my joy in them just because he likes to see me smile. :D

My boyfriend likes them, he just doesn't like to be bothered with cleaning them, only wants the fun parts of it. Also, he thinks putting out anything over $300 is crazy, so I told him it would be along time before he gets any of his favorite morphs, ha ha.

My Mom is in no way a snake fan, never liked snakes a day in her life, but she has been extremely supportive. She wants to see what they will produce, she has no idea about genetics or what the dominant and recessive genes are, actually, she doesn't even know what the morphs are called, ha ha. She calls them by their colors, but she is becoming more and more interested, I've caught her watching them at night numerous times now. She won't touch them or hold them though, but it is nice to see that they are beginning to catch her interest. On the other hand, since I have started breeding rats, she has been the one telling me to hold back certain ones for breeding because they are cute, and they are, don't get me wrong, but I can't keep them all, ha ha. She has even gone as far as feeding my rats baby carrots, lettuce, celery, and even making them mini peanut butter sandwiches! She feeds them like ducks, I told her not to stick her hands in the bin or they would bite her, and she listens, but those damn rats eat better than I do, ha ha.

My girlfriend has been very active in learning about and helping out with my snakes. When we went to our last reptile show she was actually the one to find my BRB Niji. The next show we go to will be to find a little lady Rainbow boa :gj:
Being with me, her interest in reptiles has really grown. She really wants a chameleon now too on top of her want of a turtle and tortoise.

This is a passion my husband and I share together. Of course I also share the snake dookie, water spills, feeding time, etc with him :D We had around 200 snake at the end of this season. Down to around 140 now. Who woulda ever thought 1 snake many years ago would turn in to hundreds down the road?

my hubby LOVES the BP snakes and he loves Princess Bob the beardie. However the other reptiles in the house he could really care less about. I even imagine him secretly getting rid of the iguana at some point. He is very cranky about how much problems he has been and not too happy about the scratches and the bites I have gotten. (imagine hands with scratches all over them)

When dating Laura, she thought it was neat, but became afraid while living with them. Over 11 years, and a slower introduction, she has her favorites and loves the BP's. Although she will not really handle anything except our Russian Tortoise.

The Joel is tolerant of them, knows I love them, comes and helps me with the shows and (very rarely) the cleaning... He is the organizational man, not the hands.

He used to get bent out of shape when I spent several thousand dollars on an animal. Now, he sees where it can get us, and hasn't said much other than "That's cool".

He has a project I'm doing for him, cause he likes it, but other than that, he is more interested in other animals. He has a Mexican Black King, and takes care of the Cresties and the Tarantula. Everything else is my job.

He is supportive, and he loves me, so he helps me in it as much as he can. He actually has a few in the snake room that are "his".

    I'm a lucky lady for sure. :)
