i looked at that and its interesting to even think that that article almost led me to believe that almost any spider could possibly be a "banded" but also on the same note i looked at the head patterns and looked around the net to see more banded pictures and it seemed to me that banded had more traditional pattern but with less side markings..

so in lamens terms... you confused me again :-P

FYI (in case I'm not reading too much into your comment), they should always live alone - each snake in their own enclosure. Quarantine is a different issue altogether, where you typically keep them in a separate ROOM for 30-90 days... I personally don't do the best quarantine, due to limited space, but I do the best I can. ;) Anyway, just wanted to make sure you understood both points.

Oh, and congrats on the new baby! He's a looker! :)

i was pretty sure due to size i couldnt house him with my famale.. but can they live together if they are a breeding pair?

nope. they can be together for a few days on and off to breed but shouldnt be together longer than that.

could he possibly be a yellowbelly spider? i was looking at pictures and seen a picture of a YB spider that looks just like him and he does seem to have a lot of yellow freckle pattern on his underside

Eyes are black in Ralph's pics from what I can see. From the OP's pics, I still say spider.

I can't say "no," since we don't know the snake's real genetics... but most spiders have freckling on their belly, some more than others. Here's mine for comparison:

wow thats some cool speckling look hes got there.. well if hes no YB then mine sure isnt.. i have no clue what the genetics are on him either and it seems like the previous owner was more clueless than me..... hopefully next year i'll get a pastel and try very hard to make bees! :-P
