And then there are those that exceed what the iPhone offers and the iPhone just wants to be (see iPhone 4G release to catch up to the Android enabled phones). :P

What did I tell you about people with glass phones shouldn't throw stones, Ed? :P

You know I hear you and then I see things like this
    iPhone 4 v HTC Incredible

HTC "3.7" 480x800 WVGA Touch screen"

iPhone "3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen Multi-Touch display
    960-by-640-pixel resolution"

HTC "Usage Time: Up 312 minutes "

iPhone "usage Up to 7 hours on 3G" aka 420 minutes

HTC "Standby Time: Up to 146 hours"

iPhone "Standby time: Up to 300 hours"

HTC "8GB internal memory*actual formatted capacity is less w/Up to 16GB of optional microSD support"

iPhone "Capacity 16GB or 32GB flash drive"

HTC Scensors " did see any listed but I know it has an accelerometer"

iPHone "Three-axis gyro, Accelerometer, Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor (for auto brightness adjustment)"

    HTC language support "English/Spanish"

iPhone Language support "English (U.S.), English (UK), French (France), German, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), Danish, Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian, Korean, Japanese, Russian, Polish, Turkish, Ukrainian, Hungarian, Arabic, Thai, Czech, Greek, Hebrew, Indonesian, Malay, Romanian, Slovak, Croatian, Catalan, and Vietnamese"

But like I said there are devices that's OS is GREAT!! iPhone worthy but the hardware fall's short. Or the Hardware is great and the OS falls short and when the carrier is charging the same price for a lesser quality device it just doesn't make much sense .

P.S. HTC, Motorola and Samsung are using a great OS. Google is poised to really give Apple a run for its money. But the phone's the actual hardware is still lacking in 9 out of 10 cases.

Would I ever own an Android device..sure I even looked at them really hard, their great phones and they are catching up with Apples device very quickly but the hardware is still in most not all but most cases falling way short

Well the specs certainly don't lie and the iP4 is a very nice phone on paper. It's also very pretty to look at. The big issue I have with them now is iTunes. Without it you can't do much to load music or backup (without paying even more). I personally just love that Android is very open and it has a huge community.
I don't have much against Apple, except I don't like how they do business. I can tether as a wifi hotspot for free in Froyo so laptop or iPad will always be fully functional. I thought it was funny that you can't tether an iPhone to an iPad.

This is a beef with me.
I have a 3G mobile wifi for my laptop from AT&T for $60, the iPhone 3G for $30, and if I get 3G wifi for my iPad it will cost me another $25.

You would think my $60 mobile wifi should cover all 3 since it is supposed to be unlimited.

The new Samsung Galaxy S phones are insanely good media phones. They will playback tons of formats, including divx and Windows Media. Simulated 5.1 for movies is cool as well. Hands down the best display I've seen on any phone, and that includes iPhone 4. Less pixels, but overall I prefer the larger size and the way colors jump right off of it.
