O and also her daughter (one holding the snake in the video) did not know her mom had a fear of snakes so she was kinda caught off guard.
Oh sorry D: HE/HIM!

Totally agree with You on that Robin... In that sensitive times for our hobby this "innocent" prank could be used to put another shadow on snake keepers.... showing how "immature" and "irresponsible" people who keep snakes are. And putting this video on Youtube just give more ammunition to another Anti-Snake Ignorant Guns....

Did not do it (yes), didn't know about it (maybe) however proudly post this video for everyone to see thinking it's funny..............All the same to me and not what we need, I would rather see video of people educating others that might have fears than that.
Re: Scaring aunt with my ball python!!
I saw this post last night before I went to bed, and I was surprised that everyone was giving praise. I was not impressed by the video at all. I just got home from work, and revisited the thread to see if I was the only one that disapproved -- I'm glad there are other sensible people out there as well.
Whether the OP new about the happenings or not is besides the point -- as others said it was in poor taste to post it on YouTube.
Scaring someone that doesn't care for snakes is all wrong. I have several friends that were scared of snakes. Instead of scaring them, I tried to reason with them, and try to find out where there fears stemmed from. Most of them had never seen a snake up close, and were just scared out of ignorance. I convinved a lot of them to at least touch my snakes, and then after a while they asked to hold them. After that, most of them love snakes now.
If I had scared them, they probably would be less likely to even consider having anything to do with snakes.
Alright, I'm off my soapbox now... :)
Re: Scaring aunt with my ball python!!
Okay guys. Big update.
This little incident actually helped my Friends Aunt in overcoming her fear of snakes. Its great to see how far she has come from dropping radios :D
She now holds my ball pythons without a problem which is great

I am totally appalled and horrified, and yet I can't stop laughing.
Well, you can't claim it wasn't pre-meditated, since you brought a video camera along! Is she every going to let you in the house again?

Naw, I was probably too busy typing my post or scanning the rest of the thread. I'm glad she's over it! (I'd still never let you in the house again. Out of GRATITUDE.) ;)
