I am definitely partial to Ying! Can't imagine my Bredli at this size. Very impressive! What is your feeding schedule now?

Thank you. Ying's not too big for me to handle, but I can see why the giant species need two people! She got a good grip on my fingers coming back into the house, and I'm glad she was just holding on, not trying to constrict.

She's getting a medium rat every two weeks, and I'll be picking up some rabbit kits next weekend to vary her diet. I think I also have some day-old chicks in the freezer that I need to feed off to Ying, Bruce, and Fezzik the boa.

Ying is up to about 2-1/2 kilos now. Sunday morning we got her into a pillowcase and thoroughly cleaned her cage. She promptly showed her appreciation by leaving a big pile of metabolic end products. Right below and in front of the end of the shelf where she was coiled up.

I managed to ignore it until after dinner, then opened the door. She started moving around in a worrying way, and I decided to use the big sturdy snake hook to keep her back. I got most of the pile out, and she started hissing. We’ve never heard her hiss before. I decided whatever was left would have to wait until she’d moved and/or is less cranky. [emoji15]

I was going to feed the “small” snakes last night, and noticed Ying had a mess in her water tub. And next to her water tub. And under her hide. And and and . . . Good grief! Just how much can one snake produce at one time!?!

Anyway, my husband got her out while I cleaned up the mess. wasn’t exactly cooperative for pictures:

    For reference, he’s 6’ 2”, 6’-plus wingspan.

Grumble, Tapatalk is acting up and losing the button to add pictures after the first one...

Trying to get a good picture of her iridescence, and mostly failing:

That one was my hand. Holding her one-handed isn’t something I can do for very long any more!

She also seems to be getting a bit less head-shy. Husband was able to touch Ying all the way up to her neck without her freaking out. She still jumps if she bumps something with her nose, though. Silly snek!

Friday night she had a little rabbit that was a bit of work for her to get down, but the only sign of it today was that she was sitting on her warm spot, and a sausage-butt. She’s about the same diameter as a soda can.
