You probably can move it... but a really really big snake... since you haven`t seen it and do not know what species it is... may be hard to even manoevoeuroeir (HOW DO I SPELL THAT WORD ALREADY!!!).

Just be really cautious. You do not know the snake, the species, the temperment, the feeding response... you could end up getting the snake into feed mode, having it NOT come out, and then the situation is even more complicated. OR you have a snake (strong when they hunt) grab a rat and then dart back into the couch.

Sorry. The devil loves it when I advocate for him.

There is no way to get it out of the couch without having to do this?

EDIT: I think you should just build an enclosure around the couch and use it as cage furniture. There problem solved. You can thank me by not posting again and letting me take the win!

The story doesn't have a happy ending, I'm afraid.

    :heartbrea :tears:

Thanks all for the advice and for trying to help, unfortantely ignorance is going to go ahead and reign supreme and there is another dead snake in the world.

    I'm pretty disheartened here.

They called animal control - who came and tried to pull it out with a hook - but since it was wrapped up in the couch they were hurting it. It struck at one of them and they decided it was a dangerous wild animal and that it wasn't safe to take it out alive.

    Aww. :(

What type was it in the end?

I had to gut one of my landlords chairs once to get a florida king out of one of the arms. To his credit he didn't complain.

I'm still not sure. It looked like an RTB - but I don't know how many look like that - that is just the one I'm familar with.

I was arguing about them killing it so they made me leave before they had it all the way out.

I wish I could have gut the couch - the lady is the one that called animal control and said that the snake was going to try to kill her and she wanted it out.

    Poor snake.

EDIT: I tried to tell them it wasn't wild - I live in western NY where it is like 10 degrees out - we don't have snakes in the wild that big that live outside.
