you should have gone to another pet store. That isway too big. The metabolism of a bp is so slow its going to use up all the nutrients from the rat digesting it! Please use some common sense next time

There are no other stores around that carry small or medium mice or rat pups around I think I mensioned that pretty clear in my past posts.This is the next size up. Fuzzies are too small so this is what she is gonna have to eat and I think she is fine.
And just to let you know if I wasn't using common sense I would of fed it a Hippo!!!

then 2-3 fuzzies work. but overfeeding doesnt. Im only trying to give you helpful advice to keep a healthy snake. You will be lucky if she doesnt regurge:D

It is going to use all of the nutrients from the meal it just ate to digest it???? Where the heck do you get that information from? That's just contrary to biology in general. I'm no specialist, but what you are saying makes no sense at all man. Use some common sense before posting next time.

Hi,
It's a good sized meal it has to be said. I would be extra carefull her temps don't drop and give her as much peace as possible for the next couple of days though.

I couldn't believe it myself the large mice they carry were bigger than the small rats and they don't carry nothing smaller.

Correct me if I'm wrong please... Anyone.... But it was my understanding that mice did not grow past 40 grams.

Well my $200 lab scale doesn't lie .It was a female mouse ( I noticed that when I fed it to my older snake :D) It may have been pregnant .Still if this one was in a package labeled large adult mouse the other ones I'm guessing would be near that size.

just make sure you have good steady temps about all ya need that is about what every baby i ever have looks like after a meal LOL
That lump should be gone in about 2-3 days like any other meal
And for the life of me i still can not figure out why Folks have this notion that BPs have slow metabolism...a healthy and properly housed BP will digest an appropriate sized meal (relative to its size) as fast as any other boid....wether it be a boa,burm,carpet or anything....ALL my babies get fed like what you see pictured some will eat like 2x week and i honestly couldnt tell you the last time i had a regurge...
Im also not using any kind of housing where i could have inconsistent hear too...My racks stay the exact same temps year round 89 hi to 83 cool so i never have to worry bout temps flucuating where the fear of a regurge would be a problem
