Re: The Egg Webcam
if you look at the egg the farthest to the left it looks like the BP inside is pushing it's nose around on the inside next to the little black dot!!!

Re: The Egg Webcam
You don't separate the eggs at 54 days to prevent the snakes from slitting into another egg and possibly drowing?
I know it's not a have to do thing but I do it to play it save. I try on day 54 and if they are really glued still tight I try it again on the 56 day. I also make sure I don't rotate the eggs.
I can't wait to see them hatch.

Re: The Egg Webcam
i thought eggs discoloured by this time? is it normal for them to be so white and perfect looking?

Re: The Egg Webcam
Thanks aleesha, I was watching him, he just finished, They look like sacks with water and a babie snake inside!:P
-
Re: The Egg Webcam
Good man. :D
Now we can really see who comes out first.
I did the same for a clutch of spider thats on its 56th day. I'm waiting just like you.

Re: The Egg Webcam
I just pulled on them a little and they came apart. I kept them in the same position. It took very little for the eggs to separate.
I could feel the snakes inside the eggs.
Thanks for the idea dragondavy!

Anytime my friend. :D
Yeah, right around day 54 they start to get separate from each other and you can pull them apart real easy, I just make sure not to rotate them.
Good luck to you on all of them. I'll keep watching. ;)
Charlie
I'm watching on a Spider X Pastel clutch that has an egg right on the tip of anotherone and I keep an eye to make sure it don't slide over and fall.

Re: The Egg Webcam
I didn't hold one long enough to feel any movements. Would it hurt the egg to try again or do i need to leave them alone?
Thanks

I wouldn't pick them up, you can stress the baby inside, IMO.
You can put a low flashlight on one side of the egg and see the baby and if you hold it there long he will move. Try not to flashlight him to much, some say that can even stress or blind them.
I do the best not to bother them unles I have to cut them open and even then I do this with care not to move them around, I do it right in the box.
Good luck..
Ps. Make sure the lights in the room are low so you wont have a hard time seeing them.lol :sunny:

Re: The Egg Webcam

That's what I am afraid of too. Did anyone ever find out anything about recording the hatching so that anyone that may end up missing it can go and watch it afterwards? Just wondering.....

Re: The Egg Webcam
okay so i have a question... since today is day 60 and it's normally 52-60 days for the babies to start pippin'... when does it become time to cut the eggs?
personally i'd want to leave them to nature for as long as possible... but when does it become too long to leave them to nature?
-
Re: The Egg Webcam
day 52 :) just playing....depends on the temps he is incubating at, lower the temp the longer the incubation peroid. if it were me i would cut the eggs just slightly to see and then let them come out as they please but its always good to let them pip by themselves

AT 88F it can take a few days longer. My temps are in the high 89.8.
It's up to you if you want to cut but if you do make sure you pinch the top of the egg so you wont cut the snake. I would only cut an inch.
Good luck.

Re: The Egg Webcam
I incubated at 87.5 degrees and decided to cut on day 65. I made TEENSY slits, and in the end, most of the babies made slits of their own ;)
The other two clutches I have now are on day 62-64(one clutch was a surprise and I didn't catch it until it had been in the female's tub for about a week).
Adam recommended to me that at my temps, I could wait until day 66-68 to cut.

I just want them to hurry :)

If he doesn't cut might not see em at all... :(
-
Re: The Egg Webcam
Wasn't it recommended though that you could wait up till day 68 or something to cut???
I don't know, I won't pretend I'm authority on this one. It's up to each breeder :) and their experience, which I'm positive far outweighs my own!
But I still think it would be neat to see them make it out on their own, so long as its safe for them..

Re: The Egg Webcam

Re: The Egg Webcam
That little guy is too cute with his little head sticking out, or at the moment with just the tip of his mouth.
Congrats on the first baby Trey!!!! :snake:

Re: The Egg Webcam
The Babies on snake-zone are too cute also!!!
I have a question though. The babies come out when they are ready, but has any breeder on here ever had a problem where a baby just didn't want to come out of their egg? What would you do then? I know nothing about breeding BPs and was just wondering.
How long do they stay in their eggs after being cut or pipped before they come out completely?
-
Re: The Egg Webcam
Where's Trey???? Somebody call him!!!
