Thanks Gio.
Yeah, love the name too. I cannot state enough how chill this guy is, especially for such a young animal. Still devours his food, but his demeanor when out is incredible.
My best friend Jeff has been my BF since 7th grade.

That's the thing about boas that is so attractive.. They have huge food drive, but unlike retics, they don't see you as a mortal enemy or food every other day. That doesn't apply to all retics. I love them, just not in my home any longer.
A boa is almost always ready to eat, and most are wonderful to handle.
Heavy, thick and long, yet lean.
They are the perfect "impressive" snake IMO.
Don't even get me started when it comes to the lateral compression of their bodies. That loaf shape is by far the most unique part of a healthy boa constrictor I love it.

Yeah, I am totally a Boa "Convert." Never thought I'd keep a boa because of their ultimately "large" size as adults. However, one male BI, one Male dwarf BC, and one female BI later, and it won't be that bad :). Behira, the female BI will be pretty big, the others, not too bad.
Love their personalities, but they are all different. Feliz (BC) is a total "runner." He's active when out, climbing, exploring, etc. Jeff is inquisitive, but so far, likes to just chilling on me. Behira is in between.
I had to realize how gentle these giants are first hand and now three later, well, I am hooked. I am also full up, but happy with the boas I have.
I did have to get a little used to the feeding response, but that's been adjusted to at this point.

I tried to get Jeff in some natural light today, but it was too cold to take him outside. As soon as I went upstairs to take the pictures, the sun went behind the clouds as well. Oh well, still got a couple cute pictures and thought I would share.

Re: Jeff Shemesh - VPI T+ Sunglow Motley Jungle het Anery
Jeff shed last night.
He's looking good, but I cannot accurately capture his creamy and "glowing" yellows well enough with the lighting in my basement. It's still cold outside, but soon, I will get some good pictures.

Re: Jeff Shemesh - VPI T+ Sunglow Motley Jungle het Anery
Got some pictures with Jeff today. Not the best pics, but his colors look alright. My bad on the pics, he wasn't moving too fast or anything. He's super chill. I just got too close to the phone I think.
He's growing nicely but I don't have a weight in the past few feedings. He's not a frequent pooper. Seems to be his MO.

Re: Jeff Shemesh - VPI T+ Sunglow Motley Jungle het Anery
Jeff ate tonight and is getting braver. He's now coming out to the acrylic door(s) on his tank when he smells food. He hasn't taken after his two boa siblings and started nailing the doors yet, but he happily devours his F/T prey (now an adult mouse) when offered.
It's nice to see him getting more adventurous and growing into his own.
Don't get me wrong, eating was never an issue for him, but he had been a little shy about exposing himself and generally would strike from a hide (peeking out). Now he's got much of his body out of his favorite hide when strikes.

Re: Jeff Shemesh - VPI T+ Sunglow Motley Jungle het Anery
I cannot get enough of this guy. He's so handsome and I love the creamy yellow with the black speckling and the motley pattern. Besides, who doesn't love Blue/grey eyes? He has continued to be as chill as can be and seems to really trust me now (and also is more confident with size I imagine).

Jeff had his first rat pup last week and is about 300G now. He's really chill, doing great, and I love his black speckling with the creamy yellows and oranges on him.

Yeah, you've got to love the black speckles on the yellow/gold and orange/red. That contrast is going to be awesome when he has some size.
