I definitely can't read all the responses in this thread. I must say that about half of my ball pythons, I'd be confident allowing my 5 year old son to reach into their enclosures (he doesn't, just saying..) at any time (except feeding day or in shed), the other half I wouldn't. Their behavior doesn't correlate with feeding in their enclosures. Period. I have some that are puppy dog tame, I could literally kiss their faces if I wanted to, and others that want to take my face off, but again....that's their personalities, not cage aggression. But, as others have said, to each their own.

I have a couple of snakes I trust implicitly . My eight year old constantly takes out our bee and has never had a problem. But like you I have one that is a total turd but oddly enough she is one of my favorite. She is really really aggressive at feeding time. She is tub feed.

Ive got 5 snakes now and feed all 5 in their enclosures- how they like it best.

Ive been bit 0 times. May be because I have superhuman reflexes though :D

No, seriously, though. That is one myth that even I fell for, but it completely holds no truth to it. Feed them in their own home. They have feelings too and dont like being picked up everytime before and after a meal. Geez!

yep i have fed mine in it's encloser, bathtub, hallway, living room. My snake don't care where it's at or whats going on, you throw a rat on the floor its on. I have had my snake attack a rat on the floor while coiled on my arm twice. it's a little monster but its my little monster ;)
