Im not going to jump the gun and say we are going to the Cup because Montreal has been in this situation twice. BUT i will say that I am getting a little bit of Cup Fever. I will say on record that I am not too worried about Chicago if both teams would because they havnt played a defense like ours and if we continue to play the way we have we will go far.

haha. I live like few blocks away from Frankford and Cottman and there were thousands of crazy fans gathered there last night. I just hate the overreacting celebrations. I think they need to save it of a Cup win IMO.

Things we learned from game 1 :
1) Dustin Byfuglien cant handle Mr. Pronger
2) Chicago controlled the pace of the game BUT the Flyers proved they can go toe to toe with them.
3)Where were the goalies ????? On both ends
4)This series is FAR from over

Side Note: Tried to get tickets to game 3 in Philly and the cheapest seats we could find were 2nd level last row for $850 and that was waaay to much for one game BUT on the flip side I ordered season tickets for next season we treated ourselves to an early wedding present for ourselves.

Pronger is a beast, and I expect him and Timmonen to up there game tonight.

Carcillo will make a welcome return tonight I hope and leave the blackhawks crying to there mommies.

It was a nerve wrecking game. Both teams were feeling eachother out. I agree that there will be no sweep. Well just take it in 5 lol.

What Hawks fans need to realize is that Pronger is now a +7 in this series. Big, mean biased refs and Bettman's grand secret squirrel plan to rob Chicago of a cup aside, the Hawks need to be more effective when the big dog is chained in the back yard. Right now, he's making Byfuglien look like a soft little girl.

That and 2 of their 3 goals the other night bounced off Flyers.

Coach Q is going to have to break up the Byfuglien, Kane and Toews line to free one or some of them up from Pronger.

I fondly remember Mario Lemieux driving a stake through the hearts of the Blackhawks in the 1992 cup after the Hawks choked away a 4-1 game one lead. Here's to hoping the Flyers are able to win two more.

One of the best analysis I've read. I will say we need to keep things physical though. Our blue line play got alot better when we got home. I hope that keeps up.

After four games the top line finally decided to push back on Pronger.............

Byfuglien still looks like a musk ox on cowboy boots out there.

Reminds me of an old line about Bob Probert. A commentator was discussing how his team mates called him ther Sheriff. The color guy says - "Why? Because he keeps his team mates safe?"

The play-by-play guy says: "No. Because he skates like he's wearing cowboy boots."

Watching Byfuglien wallow and flounder about the ice, throwing his lumpy misshapen bulk about makes me nostalgic for guys like Tie Domi and Bob Probert who would have beat the tar out of him on the first face off of Game 1 and had him running scared for the rest of the series.

...and yes, the Flyer goaltending sucked big time last night. Boucher's five hole was still injured and Leighton played like he had been free-basing Demerol.

For clarification, I am not a Flyers fan. Eric Lindros used to play for the Flyers, which means that forever they will be stained. Admitting you are a Flyers fan is like admitting you like to sit on other people's thumbs.

If the man in cowboy boots can score goals, let him do what works for him!

This is a great series, can't wait for the next game!

Last Night's game was weeeeird. Our D was having a very off night and chicago had lucky bounces aplenty.

Still it's a great series, both teams have proven they really deserve to be here. I hope this series goes to game 7.

Because then we will be playing in Chicago!

Still it was a hard fought series, Shame to see it won buy a lucky goal. Even more of a shame to see that jerk hossa win a cup. Still the hawks are a good team and they have played hard for the past few years. Hurts to say it but they deserve it.


Great to see the Flyers make the run they did. With better tending it could have been us. But still our whole team did really well and we shut up the critics. and the Eastern Conferance.

Man. I live right next to the Dan Ryan right in Chicago and I can hear cars flying out side my window sounding their horns. :) Its quite cool to hear the city celebrate.

It was a FANTASTIC game, don't get me wrong. That final goal was crazy lucky! It could have been anyones game! Both teams are excellent players.

Man I imagine that victory is a sweet sweet feeling. Being easten conferance champs isn't to bad though, lots of teams wishing for that.

This was an awesome series, I do wish we could have seen game 7. But everyone played so well! I gotta say Chicago has some tight D play and real speed.

Personally I dislike the flyers coach and his decision not to play carcillo. I think he's trying to play the orange and black to clean.


Gratz to the champs. I hope philly will be hoisting the cup next year though :D ;).

Now Now no reason for saying anything nasty , I just in from looting and lighting fires with my fellow philadelphians lol .... Chicago I tip my hat, you are my West team and I congratulate you you guys deserve it.

To my Flyers and their fans, you had an amazing run. You exceeded all expectation. I absolutely loved how this city came together and embraced this team. I was being stopped at redlight and people would ask me about the flyers(my car is decked out with flyers stuff, all year round though not just because they were in the playoffs). I see true potential in this team. DO NOT be mad at Michael Leighton he is a career journyman and was bound to let in a crappy goal , just so happened it was Ot in game 6.
We lost our physical game, we let Chicago control the pace to every game.

Things we need,
1)A number one goalie, sorry Fan but Leighton, Boucher and Emery are gone possibly one will be a backup
2)Defense, you can't win the cup with 4 defenseman,need one more big solid defenseman
3) Powerforward, yes we need a Dustin Byuflign(however u spell it) some monster to bang bodies and put pucks in the net .

Positives: I got season tickets for next season so I won't be getting ripped off for tickets next year when we go to the Cup.

We played really well all year. I personally wish we had shot more at niemi. He's not a world class goalie and more pucks at the net might have helped our cause more than the fancy tricks we tried to pull.

Good series. Glad the Hawks won. Now all the Chicago teams have won Championships within the last 25 years with the exception of the Cubs. But they dont matter lol. Oh yeah one more thing. No Hossa curse for us!! lol
