Yeah, first day and I have worn myself out looking for the little booger. This was supposed to be a classroom pet for my seventh grade science classroom. I sure hope I can find it. My two teenagers and my wife have worn themselves out as well. thanks for all the replies. I'm hoping my chihuahua doesn't find it and kill it!

-Check warm spots in your house. If you search on google about your problem they have a big list of stuff to do like where to search, like house hold appliances that are warm and stuff like that. Also do the flour thing. Idk if it will work but if it does that would be cool. Im guessing that your snake has found a hiding spot and is going to stay there, not roam the house.

    Yes it can...
Any snake can survive colder temperatures. That is what these animals are built to withstand in the wild. They can not, however, thrive or digest very well. They can last a good couple months escaped in the home no problem.

I sure hope it didn't leave the home. It was a good 103 degrees out there and I'm hoping it didn't get out looking for the heat. Man, I want my snake!

I'm sure it will turn up. I've figured out that you can never find something when you're looking for it. As soon as you wear yourself out and stop it turns up lol. Just like that magical disappearing tv remote :D
Just try to keep your spirits up because I know this is probably worrying you a ton. But worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do but it won't get you anywhere. I wish you the best of luck and I'm sure you'll find it very soon when you least expect it ;)

Delilah has escaped twice, and was found in the same room as her cage both times... first time she was squeezed behind the dresser, plastered against the wall & wrapped in wires. Second time she was on TOP of a very tall bookshelf, just comfortably curled in a ball - so yes, they can "climb" rather high. As the others have suggested, look anywhere that is warm and tight, especially near electronic equipment (Toby loves hanging near my laptop and DVR/TV). There's also the flour trick that was mentioned, and you can lay crinkly paper or tin foil around the house... then keep your ears open when it gets dark, since they tend to move around at night. Good luck!!! :weirdface

Might be a good way to find him, though... as long as the dog doesn't have strong hunting instincts. My dog is a herder, so he's always keeping an eye on the snakes & cats - just to make sure they're okay. Actually, he was helping us look the last time Delilah escaped!
