Most people use melamine shelving because it has pre-finished surfaces.

Ideally they would have been in seperate enclosures from the get go, but I'm glad they are healthy so far. Seperating them now is definitely a must since males that have reached breeding age and been with a female will stop feeding and only think of breeding until they are seperated and placed in an enclosure that is completely clean of the scent of females. Some males are hard to get back on feed even after being seperated from a female for weeks. I just had to move one of mine to the other side of the house. He can't seem to get enough of the ladies.
Re: Have had three BP's living together
They were probably ok till now because the female wasn't of breeding age yet. I've heard of males fighting over a female and then refusing to eat because he knew he was the "loser".
Here's a picture of a rack I built, really simple, you can find the shelving from any big time store like Lowes. It has flexwatt under the tubs to keep them warm, you have to buy that online for around $15 with shipping. (it was still in progress in this picture, my snakes obviously have hides and water dishes not pictured) Since your snakes are adults you would need bigger tubs.

Here is an excellent post for a DIY rack: http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showthread.php?t=79217 . I built a rack almost exactly like the one in the post, and it works great. It only cost around $200 to build with heat (not including a thermostat), and holds 11 tubs. I did include a back on my rack.
