Looking for Info on how many feeders you use in 1 month

20 to 25 depending on how many feeding days come up of various sizes between fuzzy and medium.

In one month, I go through - Rats: 4 pinks, 24 rat fuzzies, 16 weaned, 48 smalls - Mice: 4 large. I breed rats and mice, not too long ago I was buying about half of this from a feed store spent anywhere from 15-20 a week, buuut I have held back alot of females and now I can feed all of mine with what mine produce.:)

I use about 100 frozen rats a month, currently this is majorly weans and smalls. With babies, this will change.

I buy about 500 rats at at time to get the bulk discount at Big Cheese.

Even for people who only have one snake that eats rats: If they are packaged well, and are clean, rodents supposedly can last around 6 months. If you feed once a week, 4 weeks in a month * 6 months = 24 rats, so I'm sure you could sell 25 packs even to the small keeper who only uses one rat a week. Actually, I bought a 25 pack of frozen small rats from Big Cheese Rodents for Caspie, and she is my only snake that eats rats. I go through 4 a month.

I'm trying to figure out if there are enough people out there who are tired of paying pet store prices, I totally understand their pricing not looking to even discuss that right now, to make it worth while to step up my own rat breeding.

I've found that I do enjoy it, oddly, and that there is a demand for good quality rats. That's a good place to start, I feed what I breed and my snakes are awesome.

I buy bulk frozen 100+ or more at a time, I tend to order about every 2 or 2 1/2 months.

I also have to buy between 8-10 live feeders per week for the stubborn eaters. I'm stuck paying pet store prices for those. I don't have the volume to command a regular delivery, and arranging pickups are too much of a hassle with my schedule. Convenience (and unfortunately a higher pet store price) win out.

Monthly total is likely between 70-80 rats.

...no wonder I'm broke...

I feed between 10-12 rat pups a month.

I feed 50-60 fuzzy mice and 40-50 pinky mice a month.

My rodents are about 50/50.....50% are animals I breed, 50% are animals I purchase. All are fed live.

That number changes often. During breeding season I usually go through around 100 feeders a month. After breeding season, but before eggs hatch I go through around 150 feeders a month. Once eggs hatch, I go through at least 300 to 350 feeders a month. I feed live, and breed my own rodents, so pet store priced don’t affect me.

Can & do. I sometimes have over 100 in my freezer.

Well I buy live as thats how I feed I go thru 52 weaner rats 8 small rats and 16 rat crawlers/fuzzies and that's if every snake eats there meal lol. I will be going thru more small/medium rats once I get all my adult females back that are on breeder loan
