Humidity: Repti Fogger OR Waterfall? Any Good?

I had simmular problems recently because living in new england during the winter isn't the greatest.

I have two heat lamps currently going to keep the ambient air up. When I first switched to the lamps the humidity dropped to a horrid 20% even with misting, reptibark, and a giant water bowl. (I tried a humid hide for her as well, but she does not like moss at all it seems.

I also tried a humidifier in my room but it was impossible to blast it so that it could by pass the heat lamps into the cage.

I went to CVS recently and they sell this really nifty portable humidifier that uses any size water bottles as it's tanks. It fits right in the cage and my humidity is not back up to 55% percent. (It's not even up all the way so I can raise it for when she goes into shed.)

It's pretty cheap at $30 bucks and works great. Only downside is you have to change the water bottle once a day.

I just didnt know if its good for the ball pythons. I thought i noticed mine sneezing and then she was rubbing her nose against the glass so i turned it off immediately. Is there any problems that can be cause for the snakes? Has anyone noticed them not liking it and hiding or something?

Well mine seems to love it, actually. Once she got used to it being in her tank I have caught her several times curled in front of it letting the mist fall on her.

I've had it in there for about 2 weeks and she hasn't be acting strangely or has exhibit any signs of an RI. (I'm so paranoid that I tend to check her about once a week).

Thanks that really helps, i must agree sometimes i can get myself all paranoid over my little girl.

Oh lord do I know that paranoid feeling well.

If that fogger of yours was new, the "sneezing" you could have been hearing may have been huffing. I know my little girl huffs all the time with things she's not happy with. (When she gets lost in my sweatshirt, when I tried to switch her to rats, when I pull her away from things she's trying to explore, etc.) She could have just been no so please with this foreign light mist in her tank.

I just keep a close eye on it. Monitor the humidity right in front of the humidifier so I know how high the most humid spot she could reach. The way I have it set up is that it creates a humid spot in the tank that she can get to when needed. (I don't blast it to make sure the whole tank is humid).

I use the zoo med fogger for my 2 bps and redtailed boa and it works fine for them, I only run it twice a day once in the morning and once at night

I don't know what I would do without the repti fogger, I'm not home alot and it dose the job. But it is useless without zoomeds reptitherm.

Old post I know but stumbled on it while googling (as another poster did) a reptifogger hack to fog 2 tanks at the same time. I use a reptifogger for my BCC red tail and my normal BP plugged into a cheap mechanical timer set to turn on for 1 hour every 4 hours with the mist level set at half. This has kept my humidity level for both snakes where is should be consistently. Using red heat lamps and CHE in double domes on both tanks for the warm side with UTH's tends to drop the moisture level pretty fast. That said, I still bottle mist every couple days to help. The drift wood decor soaks it up pretty quick so I guess maybe helps maintain humidity to some degree when the fogger is in an off cycle.
