I too am suspicious. What kind of ball was your baby? I would say put a towel over your floor vents and turn your heat on. thats how I found Kyros when he got out. just remember to keep a bowl of fresh water in every room. and just sit and listen. I found Kyros in the towel only because he hissed at me as I walked by. mind you this was 2 weeks after losing him.. thinking I would never see his sweet little face ever again. but no... thank goodness he is a bit hissy in the mornings.. might have never found him if he was always a good boy.
