Python wallace, It is that wet on purpose. You can't tell in the pictures but the light diffuser has the eggs high enough that none of the eggs are touching the substrate (or water)

It's to keep track of which way up they were laid/ found - you're not supposed to rotate them as it can kill them. So most people put a mark on the top of the egg before they start handling them to move them to the incubator. :)
