Some snakes are protective of their enclosure, or feel cornered when someone is about to pick them up, so they strike. I suggest picking the snake up with a snake hook first, then transferring him to your hands. He will most likely feel much more comfortable once out of his enclosure.

just go in confidently, let him see your there and most likely he will not strike. mine do that "hey get out of here.....ok i guess its fine" and then loosen up when they are out. pretty pastel! congrats

I have to give credit to my girlfriend though she was the one that found him for me on craig's list of all places, but I feel I got a good deal on him. Plus I'm gonna be getting a granite pair and a 50% het pied female tomorrow I'm so excited

btw dante mclovin is possibly the best snake name I have ever heard. :8: its like a mix between dante from grandma's boy and mclovin. i love it.
