Once upon a time there was a guy who went to his banker and took out a second mortgage on his home to buy a $15000 Spider. It went crazy after that every extra dollar went towards new snakes and cages. Then you have to feed all of those snakes! Wow did it get expensive fast.

With prices so low today I think that most ball python morphs are affordable to just about everyone. You just have to find a project that you are in love with and invest in it and work it to the fruition! It will pay off in the end and you will have a lot of fun along the way. The experience is well worth it!

    Just my take on things!

I have had payment plans with a breeder in the past of about $1000- all are paid off now and awaiting warmer weather :)
I will not use credit for buying snakes, as much as I would like to sometimes.

None of my debt is from snakes. I use bonus and Overtime money for snakes. Just spent part of my yearly bonus yesterday as a matter of fact and picked up 2 new balls and 1 borneo. Got three more snakes in my sites for spring purchases and I should have plenty left for when babies start coming, so I can pick up a couple of them as well.

man i am not in debt when it comes ot reptiles they are only purchased with earned moeny after any and all bills are paid. now needing money for e reptiels (supplies) and such is a differnet story lol.. Right now i need new heater controls since mine went awol last night and almost fried my friends. and i need asecond rack unit. so if that could be called a a debt I am in the hole about 500 bucks so I am lloking for moeny to get the times I need. lol .

My luck is somethign breaks or fails when I got no money and I must find ways to fix/replaceitems thati uselay get inthe summer. lucky for me I am not planning on purchasing any snakes in the next 2-3 years lol.. I just need ot produce them so i can finace the upgrade /maintance of their care.

No debt from the reptiles. Only from school, medical bills, and trying to make my way in an extremely high income area on minimum wage...

OK, ok I miss read beacause we all know that after 11pm I am slow...lol
I have debt from med bills ect... but not my herps...
Also running a rescue I am not buying, selling or breeding...
I always know if I can financially care for the ones that come into rescue. Or else I have to say no. There is a fine line between rescue and hoarding and you have got to stay above this line as a rescue.
I also always have to have a special savings (god for bid) because sadly some people have no issue (or ethics) with dropping animals on our doorstep:(
I will say what I am able to do is expensive (We work very very hard for this) but also very fulfilling, it helps me to be happy when I wake up..
    Thanks

I do not think anyone would admit that they are in debt because of their hobby. At least not here. It can be detrimental to their rep. Basically, noone in their right mind is going to tell on themselves. It is like asking if you have bad credit. :colbert:

Well, so far, 35.29% have stated that their amount of debt is "to insane to disclose", so I would say that 35.29% says volumes.
