So here's a question for everyone. I am thinking of getting a coverup for the chinese lettering on my wrist. My tattoo artist mentioned a black rose as classic. I haven't seen a lot of them on guys (found a few on google). What do the tattoo experts and non experts think? Here are a couple I found that I liked:
I have blue roses on me. I don't think it matters if you're a guy or girl. It's your body.

Re: New Tattoo
I wouldn't get a solitary black rose myself. As part of a scheme it would be OK but not as a stand alone.

Why dont you just take a picture and bring it to a good artist to replicate

The problem with doing a black rose as a cover-up is that they always LOOK like a cover-up. The success and quality of a good cover-up tattoo is that the original tattoo is worked into the design in a way that you can't tell it was a cover-up at all. And I haven't seen the tattoo you're wanting to cover, but I can tell you that nothing will cover a solid black tattoo, other than solid black. If the original is really solid and dark, you may want to consider a session or two of lazer treatment to lighten up the original so you have a bigger choice of color and design options.

The one I am covering up is just 2 black chinese letters that are line drawn. Shouldn't be too difficult at all.

Ah, if they're that small, I'd say that your options are pretty open then. Just pick something you really like and the artist should be able to work the existing tattoo into it. Post pics when you're done though! (tattoos are one of my obsessions and addictions)
