I have to disagree with Jay-Z currently being the most overrated rapper. Is he the best rapper alive? No, but he is damn good and definitely the best mainstream rapper out there. There are very few that can preform on his level lyrically that have become popular.

I listen mainly to mainstream rap for some reason. I like underground better, but never listen to it. I guess it's because I've found that I like the beats better on the popular stuff more, but I really have no idea

Well i have been more down with HipHop in the mid90s:
KRS One, Artifacts, Wu Tang Clan, Biggie, Nas, Mobb Deep, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, NWA, Public Enemy, House of Pain, Nine, Blazay Blazay, Pharcyde, Redman, Fugees and many more rocked my headphones back in these days.
But I also heard a lot of Hardcore and Emo back then: Eartcrisis, Refused, Ignite, Boy sets fire, Texas is the reason, Jimmy eat world, Falling Forward, Gorilla Biscuit, The Get Up Kids and stuff like this.
Today all of this finds its way in my CD player from time to time, but also a lot of Indie stuff, Ska, Ragga, Northern Soul.

I'm not really big into hip hop. The closest I get, is Cypress Hill, but that's really about it, and that's on RARE occasions.

I'm a TOOL, Slipknot, SoaD, Pantera kind of girl.

And Kanye West? Really? REALLY? That guy is a waste of air.

I'm still trapped in the 80s. It's all about the metal bands from that era for me. :headbang:

I like Hip hop, but prefer more harmonious music. Jazz is close to the top for me.

Where's Gangstarr son?! I'm a 90's hip hop & underground hip hop listener, not a hip pop listener. I was a bboy from 12-24 reping and killing it for L.A. around the world.

Did not like Guru on the mic that much, but I love Dj Premieres productions, I wonder now how I could forget Jeru the Damaja, Rakim and Mos Def.... silly me!
