True, im a car/truck FREAK but so the hassle is isnt a biggie, but ya id imagine trying to find the stock parts again would probably be a huge pain and cost nearly the same in the long run when you think about the time youd waste on it.....mmmmmm and japan for aftermarket? That SUCKS lol.

I use Lexan for incubators because it is the strongest and holds temperatures the best when compared to plexi and glass. It doesn't scratch as easily as plexi, but scuffs can be buffed out like plexiglass.

Plexiglass is acrylic (PMMA), and Lexan is the trade name for Polycarbonate (PC) made by GE (actually Sabic now)- same thing as Makrolon, which is made by Bayer.
Acrylic is less shatter resistant, but it's easy to buff scratches out of (use turtle wax). It's other main benefit is that it's UV stable- means that it won't turn yellow with age.
PC will turn yellow pretty quickly when exposed to sun light if it doesn't have a protective coating.
For cost/ lb, acrylic should be about 2/3 the price of PC.

And I never thought my job would come in handy when talking about snakes.....

Good question- I don't know if there is a harmful residue left over. You could probably check the warnings on the bottles to see if they are listed as poisonous.

i dont think there is? But i could be wrong. And if there was im sure theres some brands somewhere that are non toxic. Probably would want to stay away from anything with any extra additives in it though.....i could be wrong but thats my thoughts
