    I use the pink rigid insulation at Home Depot.

    It also depends on the environment of the room that the snake is kept in. Our house is on the chilly side and at night our house is cold :O

    You could try at first with some thick recycled cardboard box material and see if that does the trick. If not, cork board or rigid foam board works for lots of people. If that's not good enough, I'd go with the rigid insulation :)

    Kudos for getting all the stuff and ordering the t'stat!! It is often the case that the environment set-up costs more than the snake, but once you get it right, it's very good. Also, one thermostat can run several tanks.... ;) Mwaha ha ha!
