The best advice I can give for acquiring a chondro is to go for a captive bred animal from a knowledgeable breeder. It's your best bet on getting a healthy, feeding baby, and the breeder will be a good source of troubleshooting and valuble information about your chondro.

Good point, not too many people think about this when they purchase an animal of any species. If the breeder seems hesitant to answer any questions or help out is he really concerned about the well-being of the animal?

In my experience with chondros and ATBs, chondros are much easier to work with. I have around 30 or so chondros and have been keeping and breeding them for over 10 years. With chondros, during the day they tend to stay wrapped up on their purch even with messed with for cleaning. ATBs on the other hand, tend to be all over the place. Of all my chondros, I would say I can handle 70% of them without the thought of being bitten.....except at night. lol. I love chondros!
