Aaahhh Sniper Your A Dork!!!

Glad the snake's not too bad. Is your heater on a dimmer, at least? I have mine on a lamp dimmer ($10 at Lowe's) for now. They work as long as you don't mind checking the temps often and your room temperatures don't fluctuate more than a degree or so. Also, you might want to figure out how the snake got out so that it doesn't happen again. I lost a water snake once. Not fun at all.

did you ever take a temperature reading from underneath the paper towels or even under the tank from on top of the actual heat pad itself?
