Re: what do you photograph your snakes on?
I like white paper board, and outside photos in the shade.
I STILL haven't found a nice black background. It bothers me to no end. Everything I have tried just reflects too much light and looks crappy. :(

try using black material. I have a piece of black satin that has a sheen on one side and is matte on the other side. Depending upon my mood and the snake and the lighting around me usually decides which side I want to use. If you look in my post at the beginning of this thread, the pic with my pinnie is on the fabric with the sheen side up. Hope that helps ya Connie.

Thanks woman! :) I liked the idea of fabric, but everytime I took a pic with some, my fabric just wasn't black enough, or you could see every little lint speckle, or the threads were to obvious... Bah, I will never be happy.
The closest thing I liked so far was a piece of powder coated steel, but I didn't get a whole ton of time to practice with it so it reflected too much light for my tastes.
Re: what do you photograph your snakes on?
I use black colored paper, black cardboard, gold colored paper, cloth, whiteboard, and other things.
More recently, the black cardboard has been the material of choice, but... its getting messy, so I may change it up. I use different colors for different animals (to enhance colors).
Re: what do you photograph your snakes on?
I use a piece of Melamene with a 5200K photo light, flash on, and adjust the f stop depending on what the ambient light is like.
They come out like this with no retouching at all. :D
