    Saddles are the "circles" on their backs, yes.

    I've learned from other boa forums (:O) that even with a scale and saddle count you can still come up with a head scratch since bci's don't always follow the geographical 'lines in the sand' that humans put there. This makes it hard to know for certain unless there is a paper trace for the individual snake. :oops:

    For me, the scale counts have always been more of a rough idea than exact science. Seeing as you are correct, things aren't always as easy as we would like.

    Like I've said, we can just give "educated guesses", even if you have saddle counts, scale counts and everything else. I think they like to confuse us. :D
