I use out town water because it is better than the water in most cities: http://www.ci.bend.or.us/depts/publi...yReportWEB.pdf

When we move full time to the ranch, I'll use our tested well water.

I use tap water. I leave it out overnight to reduce the chlorine.

Im sure any water that they get, is better than the stagnant pools that they would be drinking out of in the Af

I dunno a lot of people in the rural southeast (A.K.A. farmers)drink unfiltered well water. Now look at the rates of CANCER. Think of all the pestices and fertilizers that slowly seep into the ground. I am not saying that cancer works the same way with reptiles or feeders as humans. But we all know these chemicals are bad and cancer is on the rise.

Reverse osmosis systems are great but they waste twice as much water as they produce. Reverse osmosis was originally developed for desalination. Large ions are filtered out but smaller molecules easily get through the membrane, such as pesticides.

Carbon filtration is another option. This technique actually traps tiny molecules in the microscopic crevices of the carbon matrix.

    Just my 2c.

I use the tap water in town, but I'm glad we have a water softner.

At one point I was going to use only carbon filtered water, but the amount of time it took to fill up a gallon of water was wayyyy to long. If I had amphibians I'd be using something else for my water supply...or be picker about it.

I have no problem using city water, I think it would do just fine .. BUT, since we have a water purifier on the tap, I use it because it makes me feel a little better knowing that the water is going to be no issue at all.
