I'm not sold on the axanthic part. It looks like a light normal. All the same... what does it really matter?

You can't prove it one way or the other unless you bred it out. If your camera takes horrible pics, I'm not sure why it was brought up other than "I got an axanthic for practically nothin!"

that wasnt really the whole idea of this post...
but if thats what you got out of it...

All I'm saying is it doesn't matter if it's an axanthic or not. He just needs some care and attention to get him back healed and in his full glory. :gj:

Update.. Looks like my son's large BP is going to be good.. He actually ate 1 LRG & 1 SM rat..:O
Fatty.. :D
Mine the rough female is in shed. The vet said that after a few sheds and kept in a clean cage along with this Iodine solution and warm water rub downs it should we hope clear up.:gj:

He ate both a large and small rat on the same day? That is a lot of food for a male. Even my largest girls just get smalls......

Only my breeder females get a medium rat- all the rest get small rats, every 7 days.
Why would you feed him so much?

Well for the reason he was underfed. They were together and the small rat was for my girl at the time. He struck it and ate it with no problem. This is not a habbit I plan on keeping but as I was trying feed the other she hid (i didnt know she was about to go "blue" eye) So then as she hid he came out and struck it with force. Now mind you again theye were only together due to this is how I had bought them and I figured they have been this way for 6 months what is 3 days more going to do. Plus it was easier to keep away from my other healthy snakes. So after the check up yesterday they were seperated and now each hav their own 40gal tank. She is in shed so shes not eating like normal.
He is healthy and I think was just making up for lost food. Trust me its not a huge deal. Snakes and all animals stop when they are full. You stop.. Well I hope so anyways. So it was a bit much but again not something that will happen again. Limit 1 large per week. Unless he's hungry:D

hmm. about the medium and small rat meal. i have heard its better to feed smaller than you think they need becuase it takes them less energy to digest a smaller meal vs. a med. and small rat at once which they will use up more energy digesting a meal like that. they would end up getting more energy and nutrients from the smaller meal...

correct me if wrong.
