Thank you so much everyone. I can't tell you what your good wishes and concern mean to me.

I didn't get a lot of sleep last night thinking of how it could have been a lot worse and growing angrier at this driver who wasn't paying attention and going too fast. I know that's all normal feelings for a mother and will pass in time but boy I feel like an angry bear with her cub right now.

I'll be in daily contact by phone with Kate and Nicole and thankfully they are staying with Nicole's family while they apartment searched so Nic's mom will watch over Kate and make sure she does exactly as the doctor says. My oldest tends to pooh pooh doctor's advice a lot of the time so that's a concern that she won't rest enough or wear the collar 24/7 as she's supposed to right now. I gave her my "mom" talk about that. :)

Anyways, thanks again folks. You really are a wonderful community of caring, good people.

wow that's just infuriating that some people can be so selfish that they REALLY mess up someone else's life and not care one bit...What crap. I really hope your daughter makes a full recovery and I hope they catch this human mold.

If her car was totaled, then surely the other car has to have significant damage. Do you know if anyone got a description of the car?

    Of course you do!

It is good to know she is with someone who will be watching out and making sure she follows doctor's orders.

That's terrible, Jo.. I was just thinking about you and her yesterday, wondering how things were going.. this isn't what I wanted to hear!

But.. it could have been worse. I'll pray for her total recovery. :)

Jo sorry to hear about your daughter.
Dont let anger make you crazy, it will only make it more painful.
Try to be thankful that your daughter is not as bad as she could be.

I had a horrible event with my daughter who had moved out a couple of years ago and after being very angry for a while I realized that I should be very thankful that I still have a daughter to worry about. She could have very easily have been taken from us as well. Thankfully she is OK now.
Not all parents are that lucky.

My prayers and thoughts are with you.
