Switching to tubs. How do I regulate the heat?

Just test both areas and see what the temps are. Probably warmer up on the shelf. Change it if needed. Other than that, the problem with the floor may be too much vibration.

What about the UTH being on top of the floor (carpet)...isn't that a fire hazard?
