Re: LADIES!!! A Q for you...
Hair--oh do I hate it! If it were up to me I would have every bit of hair on my body except for my eyelashes lasered off. Hair is totally unnecessary and grows in the most ridiculous places.
Part of the reason I wear a hat all the time is because I hate my hair. If I could just get rid of it altogether I would be soooo happy.... But then people would be rude and stare and gawk and that, I think, would aggravate me more than just keeping my hair. Freaking people!
Re: LADIES!!! A Q for you...
Emily do you have curly hair?
I do and I hated it for years.
I use a straightener sometimes. However I found that Redkens ringlets, a blow dryer with a diffuser work wonders!!

Maybe that's it. I wash my hair and dry it, run a brush through it and I'm good to go. Perfectly straight... I'm blessed and I'm not ashamed to admit it :) But it's always nice to stick a few red streaks in there and shock the hell outta people
Re: LADIES!!! A Q for you...
I am the Tom Boy type and thanks god I married someone that like it.
Jean & T-Shirt all the way – Shorts & T-Shirt during the summer.
I don’t feel comfortable when I dress up.
The only girlie things I enjoy are lingerie :D and a nice perfume.
Re: LADIES!!! A Q for you...
My hair is mostly straight with some wavy pieces mixed in. It's thin and blah and just...blah. It doesn't stay in a pony tail or anything else on it's own (without hair spray) because it is so soft and thin and if the wind is blowing at all it just flies around everywhere. And I really hate having it on my neck--it's a bit past my shoulders in length now but I always keep it pulled up with my hat on. The hat also keeps it out of my face, since it is not able to stay that way on its own, and I hate having it in my face and all over. I've tried having it cut short too and that was, well, not so good. Someone get me a razor!

Hey--sounds like you have the samre problem I used to! My hair is thin, baby fine, and there's not that much of it. I used to keep it long and in a ponytail but it looked bad. Finally I got the courage to get it cut short...but I think you have to be careful about what hairstyle you choose. I went through several books before I found one that would work with my face shape and the color, thickness, and lack of my hair..XD
It takes a little time in the mornings to style it (all I use is a tacky but wonderful smelling gel stuff, and my hands and a brush, and a round brush for the sides) but it looks MUCH better than keeping it long. Perhaps you should look through a style book and compare your own facial shape and hair type with those used in the pictures--believe me, I saw some that I loved--but if I'd tried getting them, I would have looked ridiculous.
Maybe you should sit down and look through a hairstyle website to try and find your face shape and hair type..? That way you can find the best style for you. If nothing else, short hair--in a generic hairstyle--is easier to care for.
Re: LADIES!!! A Q for you...
I wouldn't have the slightest clue what hair style would look best for my face shape. I probably need to go to a salon and have them recommend something, but I am so not comfortable in that kind of environment! Me in my jeans looking plain and frumpy and all these fixed up girls wearing jewelry and makeup ... yeah.
Re: LADIES!!! A Q for you...
I am THE worst.
For me, jeans and a t-shirt IS dressing up!
I wear PJ's when I am at home, which is almost all the time.
It's very, very sad.
Re: LADIES!!! A Q for you...
LOL! This thread is great! I had to wear nice-casual for years... my job now... jeans.. tees... and my favorite: ****ies Overalls!
I'm soooo glad I don't haft to jack with dry cleaners and lint rollers anymore!
My definition of dressed up is now a pair of jeans that doesn't have a hole, and or paint on them... and I'll sport a "cute" top...
I'm guilty of using make-up... at LEAST mascara.. I have blondeish eyebrows... Blah...and I LOVE smelling "good"... :D
LONG gone are the days of that natural young glow!
As for hair... I usually brush it RIGHT before I officially have dreds... but I do wash it every day... sometimes I'll put some highlights in if I need a boost... and shaving!?!?!?
Even less... :weirdface
Yea...
Re: LADIES!!! A Q for you...
I am a casual dresser. I can dress down at work, and I live in bootcut jeans, hoodies, and either sneakers or platform boots.
A few nice pieces that you can mix/match is the way to go! A few nice dress pants (or skirts; I myself am not much for skirts.) And tops that you can wear in layers, so that if you're indoors and you get hot or cold, you can add or remove a layer.
I admit to living in pajama pants and tees around the house. No reason to dress up.. the horses and snakes don't care as long as I am feeding or cleaning their homes :)
BLACK; you can't go wrong. No one can. Black dress pants, boots.. tops..
