For me it's Reputation ,Reputation and Reputation!

I skip most if not all adds on here even when i was jusk lurking on this site. I buy only from the big boys in the biz and from a trusted local guy.

I also take into consideration word of mouth form some of the longer standing and trusted members here on bp.net It has helped me expand my thinking on some of the smaller breeders(JAS) and their wonderful animals.

I don't know when I'll produce my first clutches but I enjoy answering questions of all types when I can. I don't have tons of experience but I think I learned quite a bit over the past 3 years keeping bps.

But I'm a very strong advocate of educated buyers; so the seasonal ads and what not don't bother me. People should know what and who they're buying from when dealing with a live animal that can live 35+ years.

I try to only reply to questions when I can add something else to it, and I try to avoid posting the same advice.
I don't have an issue with folks posting for-sale ads and not much else. Not everyone can do everything needed. Not everyone is chatty and wants to repsond to yet another "What morph do you want next" type poll, or to respond to a thread about a joke. There's plenty that do, and they respond just fine. But not everyone wants to sit around on the off chance that someone might ask something only they can answer.

With the massive amount of folks that ARE willing to answer "Iz it ok 4 me 2 kepp 2 pthons 2gether?????????" for the hundredth time, I don't feel the need to pop on to say "No" when twenty others already have answered in a cool way that covers the whys and hows.

If you want to really support the site that way, then buy from the sellers that DO post often with good advice and with good attitudes. Buy from the advertisers. And when you do and get great service and a great product/animal, post how great it was! Those that only post a for-sale ad and disappear... disappear. You don't see the ad but one time if you look for new posts, and it's gone. Not a lot of advertising for them, since they didn't put any work into it. Since there's rules as to how many ads you can post, and a rule about abusing the picture section, what's the harm in letting them post their animals for sale?
