Well, chameleons can be tricky, but if you have the environment set up right, half the battle is won... In all honesty, I spend more time taking care of the chams food than I do the chams! Yep, breeding bugs is fun.....:weirdface
I have quite a few chams, so I "automated" as much as I could with automatic misters, drainage systems that take the dirty water out of the house, humidifiers set up to hold levels steady and all lights ect on timers.. All supplementation (calcium/vitamins ect) on schedules so I can keep track easier....
I love the challenge of keeping them healthy and thriving.... and after a year of "sitting on eggs" to see those "wobbly" eyes peeking at me... well it's almost better than sex...almost!

Chameleon eggs take a year to hatch? Or is it a year from first breeding? Even still that is a long period of time. Amazing pictures!

Well, the length of time depends on a lot of things... species, temps, diapause periods. On my last few clutches, one went just shy of a full year, one went 13 1/2 months and one went in 9 months :rolleyes:

The incubation time is considered from the time the eggs are layed.

Some species can hatch in just a few months (pygmies and some smaller species) while others can take up to 2 years! (parsonii)

Then there are the chams that give live birth! Too awesome!

From what I understand, Veiled and Jackson's chams have set up shop in your neck of the woods (what hasn't? :rolleyes: ).. You should keep your eyes in the trees!! I will be down there again this summer and I will help you look! :gj:
