Re: What the heck happened here?
paradox is the best mystery in ball pythons not knowing exactly where it comes from is awesome makes it a unique indiviual and thats what gives it its beauty
Re: What the heck happened here?
Hopefully someone has started compiling breeding results of both what all has created paradox albinos and what they created when bred. A good sample of that information should be able to help us narrow in on what might be going on here.
Have paradox albinos ever been created by albino X albino (i.e. does the normal for albino gene have to be present)? If it's just a random expression of black in a homozygous albino then as more albino X albino breedings are done we should eventually see one produce a paradox. However, if all paradox come from clutches that could have produced both morph and normal looking siblings then that would at least fail to disprove chimeraism. While also not proving chimeraism the existence of a paradox that breeds homozygous normal would also be a factor pointing toward that theory.

Someone worked on their car and then reached for the paper towels to clean up, but grabbed an albino mistake! :)

I think that paradoxes are awesome. Weird, normal coloration peeking out through albinism. Anyone who is interested in genetics at work and not merely flashy colors should agree..
