Like said grow your animals, build your collection and when you have some babies forsale. Sell them for what the market price is at that time for that animal.

I bought my pastel for $90, which turned into 140 shipped, 75 shipped would be crazy:cool:

One thing with Pastels.. the price will fluctuate greatly depending on the snake's appearance. Also on its lines; there are Lemons; Blondes; Grazianis; etc. :)

I paid more than 75 for mine. Ive just herd people say they got a male pastel for 75 from a show or seen them for that at a show. Have also seen them on KS for that low a few times. I paid 200 for my male I didnt have him shipped I went and picked him up. 75 shipped I dont know if I have seen them that low yet. I have herd somewhere that they have been showing up in pet stores now. I havent seen any yet, but sooner or later they will start showing up around here.

And if you notice, the pastels under $100 are usually very low grade, lower quality pastels. The nicer ones are worth more. I won't be under pricing my lemon pastel males - you can bet on it!

Re: I was thinking about these prices to sell my babys for
I agree with everyone else about "hatch some snakes, 1st, then worry about pricing afterwards".

But as for pricing; I think that's the hardest thing about breeding. On the one hand, you can't charge as high as people like Adam at 8-ball or NERD. If they're selling pastels for $500 and you're selling pastels for $500, people will buy from the big guy because they're well known and have a good rep. On the other hand, if you price too low, it looks fishy and people will think "if it's too good to be true...".

So there is a definite balance there that hobbyist breeders have to find when pricing. Anywho, good luck with your snakes. Get the raised up and hatch some snakes, then lets talk about pricing.

I dont think ive seen it mentioned yet but you pay for what you get... Yea you may find a pastel for 75 but it prolly doesnt look that great... Good looking parents make good looking snakes... try sellin a 75$ not so great looking pastel against a 300$ bright yellow one and the majority of people will pay the extra cash. Just because you have a snake for sale doesnt mean people are going to want to buy it. Everyone and their best friend has a pastel so its not about finding one for sale cheap... its finding a great looking snake for a reasonable price... This is just how I see it when I purchase snakes.
