Re: Favorite Lyrics
A good friend of mine once mis-quoted the following, and everytime I think of it I crack up... "When you laugh the world laughs WITH you, when you cry the world laughs AT you.
While I'm on the subject...
Q, What do you get when you cross 50 pigs with 50 deer?
A, A hundred sows and bucks!!!

The Little Things Give you Away by Linkin Park (this song was dedicated to the victims of hurricane katrina and it gets to me everytime)
Water gray, through the windows, up the stairs
Chilling rain, like an ocean everywhere
Don't want to reach for me, do you?
I mean nothing to you, the little things give you away
And now there will be no mistaking
The levees are breaking
All you've ever wanted
Was someone to truly look up to you
And six feet under water, I do
Hope decays
Generations disappear
Washed away,
As a nation simply stares
Don't want to reach for me, do you?
I mean nothing to you, the little things give you away
But now there will be no mistaking
The levees are breaking
All you've ever wanted
Was someone to truly look up to you
And six feet under water, I do
All you've ever wanted
Was someone to truly look up to you
And six feet underground,
Now I do...
Oh, oh...
The little things give you away, the little things give you away
(All you've ever wanted was someone to truly look up to you)

Skinned by Blind Melon
I'll make a shoehorn outta your skin
I'll make a lampshade of durable skin
And oh, don't you know that I'm always feelin' able
When I'm sittin' home and I'm carving out your navel
When will I realize that this skin I'm in
Hey, it isn't mine
And when will the kill be too much meat for me to hide on
Hey, I could really use a couple of hands
To complete one hell of a plant stand
Oh, don't you know that I'm caught here in the middle
Making rib cages into coffee tables
And when I realize that this skin I'm in
Hey, it isn't mine
And when will the thrill be too much meat for me to find anymore
Oh, because you know I can't hide
But oh how hard I try
But this is just the shape I'm in, oh yeah
And though you know I can't hide
But oh how hard I try
But this is just the shape I'm in

That's kinda creepy for a Blind Melon song. Slayer has a song with similar lyrics called Dead Skin Mask. It's about the Wisconsin psycho Ed Gein.
Graze the skin with my finger tips
The brush of dead cold flesh pacifies the means
Provocative images delicate features so smooth
A pleasant fragrance in the light of the moon
Simple smiles elude psychotic eyes
Lose all mind control rationale declines
Empty eyes enslave the creations
Of placid faces and lifeless pageants
In the depths of a mind insane
Fantasy and reality are the same
Dance with the dead in my dreams
Listen to their hallowed screams
The dead have taken my soul
Temptation's lost all control

Re: Favorite Lyrics
Wasted Time by The Eagles
Well baby there you stand
With your little head down in your hand
Oh my God you can't believe it's happening again
Your baby's gone and you all alone
And it looks like the end
Your back out on the streets
And your trying to remember
How do you start it over
You don't know if you can
You don't care much for a strangers touch
But you can't hold your man
Never thought you'd be alone
This far down the line
But don't know what's been on your mind
Your afraid it's all been wasted time
All the leaves have got you thinking
About the first time you fell...fell
You couldn't love the boy too much
You just loved the boy to well...well
So you live from day to day
And you dream about tomorrow
And the hours go by like minutes
And the shadows come to stay
So you take a little something
To make them go away
And I could have done so many things baby
If I could only stop my mind
From wondering what I left behind
And from worrying about this wasted time
And the love has come and gone
And the years keep rushing on
I remember what you told me
Before you went out on your own
Sometimes to keep it together
You have to leave it alone
So you can get on with your search baby
And I can get on with mine
And maybe someday we will find
That it wasn't really wasted time

Re: Favorite Lyrics
I almost forgot the lyrics that helped motivate me during my teen years.
Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way
Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death
Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time has gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say
