What do you think in temperament in comparison to other species such as red tails, kings, milks, balls, ETB, GTP and so on? Thanks in advance!

In the November issue of Reptiles, Dave and Tracy Barker gave a great overview of the Blood pythons, past and present, and a great little paragraph on their tempers. (including the sumatrans). When compared to my ball pythons (i said this earlier ;)) She is by far calmer and more laid back. It's the only way I can describe it. The only other species besides Balls and Sumatrans is a corn, and he's very excitable compared to the balls, but I can handle him after the 5 minute "OH oh! whats going on!" phase for longer than the ball pythons.... Does that make any sense? I'm running out of comparisons.

In general, my Jade is the tamest animal I have ever had, very docile and easy to handle, and has never tried to strike at me or appeared aggressive like the Malaysians are said to be.

Me and my boyfriend traded her... We had her for two years but she was still very agressive... sometimes we had to wear gloves. We both loved her... It hurt us so bad to let go of her. She was beautiful... And a very good eater.

That's really sad. I don't think I could let go of any of my animals. It would be a heartbreaker, esp one so damn pretty. So sorry, hopefully you will have better luck with the next one~ ;)

In her water bowl yes! She made a huge mess last shed. These animals I suppose will soak if given the opportunity to. I just assume that because they are from swampy land, and they do have a very upright oval build that suggests it... But I'm not 100% on that one.

Mine used to do that... Her whole body would be inside and only the front of her face would be out...

Chris is actually going to making her a nice water bowl so that she can comfortably sit in it if she like. The only thing I would worry about is that they "hide" in their water when stressed. So hopefully everything works out well with that.
