I do forget about NYC being that sort of mega-city and I do agree that they probably needed some sort of restrictions on certain pets in that kind of over-crowded, apartment dwelling society. Too bad though that they obviously either didn't do the research or disregarded expert opinions on what snakes to include. I may be wrong but I swear Robin mentioned something about corn snakes being illegal where she lives.

I agree. As far as Corn Snakes and Georgia, I believe it has to do with the fact that they are a native species.

Some corn snakes are illegal to keep in NJ also.

"Corn Snakes are an Endangered Species in the state of New Jersey. Possession or sale of any other color morphs,other that those listed could result in fines, penalties and/or possible revocation of your permit.

The only color morphs that are legal to possess and/or sell are the following:
Red Albino (Amelanistic), Butter ,Snow, Pearl, Lavender, Blizzard ,Creamsicle, Sun Glow, Candy Cane
ANY OTHER COLOR MORPH IS ILLEGAL TO SELL. VIOLATION OF THIS REGULATION WILL RESULT IN PENALTIES, FINES AND OTHER LAW ENFORCEMENT RAMIFICATIONS."
