kneeonflamingo: Woh...that's a lot of cats and G.Pigs! I love both, but can't have cats because Ari is allergic, and Truffle turned out to be too needy time-wise for two full time students. Used to have 5 cats tho...

    Kinda embarrassed...got the smallest list

Samuel L. Jackson - well we saw Snakes on a Plane....roommate was like "dude you gotta get one." I say ok and next day i bring home my lovely boy...

Aria - Wanted a Greek name...couldn't find one that someone didn't already have...so Cafe Del Mar inspired me.

Optimus Prime - Will be the name of my ghost. I said a while back before the movie...that my next male snake will have that name...so looks like it will be the ghost.

Yeah, we want to get the female cats spayed, but they're strays, so they come and go a lot. My dad is allergic to the cats, but they're outdoor cats so it doesn't really affect him. Although, he gets ticked off when they try to come inside. He hates cats. :) We bred the guinea pigs but then my little sister became allergic. She couldn't handle them without getting a rash. My mom had the same reaction, so we had to get rid of them. :(

I LOVE coming up with names. I'll often come up with names way ahead of time or even for pets that I know I'll never have. I tend to switch back and forth between mythological names, and fangirlish names. I'll list/explain the current ones for example:

    Snakes:

Gomez the BP: From the Addams Family, because it's a cool sounding name plus he winds up the arm giving little kisses like snakes do. Cara Mia! ;)

Falkor the corn: he was actually our first snake, and we wanted a very non-threatening name to ease the extended family into a nice secure "see, snakes are cute!" state. So we named him after the luck dragon from the Neverending Story.

Ma-tsu the VBB: Hers is the name of an Asian goddess of the sea, which I thought really suit the lovely blue colors and charming temperment of our girl. My favorite story about that particular goddess is that if a sailor is in need of help it's best to call her by her actual name instead of her title "Empress of Heaven" because if you call her that it takes her longer to show up. Since she has to put on her fancy empress gear. Boy does that suit our girl, lol.

Neptune the VBB: Dunno if we'll keep up the sea god theme with our beauties, but Neptune suits our boy just fine! Temperment and handsome looks alike! Also, it's a gorgeous planet to boot and sometimes I swear the boy acts like an alien, lol.

Lil Irwin the rubber boa: We got him right after Stevo passed away... I'm a huge fan and miss him. This little guy actually kind of helped me deal with the sense of loss. :happycry: Rubber boas also always make me think of him because he gave Ross the Intern a rubber boa in parting, which I thought was adorable.

    Rabbits:

Daphne: Karen actually named this girl, she's always liked the name Daphne. So no big story there, lol.

Bowie: He actually came with this name when we got him from the rabbit rescue, and it was too perfect! He was named that because he has strange eyes, one is half green and half blue, so he was named after David Bowie of whom I'm a big fan. Daphne fell in love with him right away (well, spayed love, lol) so it was meant to be.

Unut: We, and the vets, and pretty much everybody thought Unut was a girl initially so we named him after the Egyptian hare headed goddess. Since he's got the ancient Egyptian eyeliner going on. When he was under the knife to get spayed, they discovered he had no uturus and was in fact a boy! Younger than he looked because he's a mixed breed and a big boy. We thought about renaming him, but he's our Unut-monster and it stuck. Those names are pretty gender neutral anyway. ;)

    Kitty:

Cleopatra: Okay, not a creative name for a kitty, but hey I was like 9 years old when I named her so whatcha gonna do, lol. Cleo suits her perfect! :)

In the future, a few names I want to use include Tesla (dwarf boa?), Tulsi & Rudra (trinket snakes), Morticia (BP), Batman (?), Mana (VBB?), and I want to name a round golden lop bunny Buddha so badly, lol, the cuteness...

Dunno what I'd name Batman, but it's hard to resist because it'd be hilarious to me, being a dork and all. "Would you like to meet... BATMAN!?" "Time to feed Batman!" "Dangit, I have to clean out Batman's cage, he pooed again." I don't know what's automatically funny about the name Batman... it just is. Like naming a pet Chuck Norris or Kyser Soze.

Nevaeh- my dog. i have a niece named heaven who i was missing a lot when nevaeh was born. it is heaven spelled backwards

Gypsy- my cat. she was the first in her litter to start exploring the world. gypsy means wanderer

Floyd- ball. matt likes pink floyd. alot. really.

Tank- ball. we originally thought he was a she and named him kiara. once we had him probed we had to come up with a super masculine name. matt came up with this one and i couldn't think of anything better.

Nemo- is a maroon clown fish! go figure!

Spooge- a sailfin/algae blenny. he looks like a glop of spooge! lol. (mods feel free to delete this one!)

Hotlips- a naso tang. she has bright orange lips

how sad is it that we name our fish???? :P we have more but they're pretty much named for their breed.....
