i try to think for the animal is its best interest and when he was sick and out of my control no need to make him suffer so i got him the best care possible.
:8: You cannot possibly be serious.
People have offered you advice on 2 forums, you dismiss the advice given to you, the condition your BP was in was not out of your control and could have been improve if you had followed the recommendations of various members.

Instead you traded him in like it was a used car :colbert: .

Is that what is called responsible pet ownership? :confuzd:

Its called lack of effort I think.

He mentions how big it is every 3 seconds, seems to me thats all he's really concerned about.

No you don't! You generally argue every suggestion or just don't bother to try to understand the suggestions given. The "best care possible" is not dumping it back in a pet store where it's likely to get minimal care at best.

    *SIGH*
Didn't listen to a thing...even when we said it nicely...

FYI trading in a sick, malnourished animal back to a pet store of all places is NOT in ANY animal's best interest. Since you pointedly ignored everyone's great advice and council, and since you are bragging so much about this snake's size, it can be deduced that you are only in this for a trophy pet.

Now, if I am wrong, then I apologize...but only if you prove that I'm wrong. Show us you really give a damn about doing the best for this new snake by following the council, advice, and info posts from these fine people, and by changing your enclosure and husbandry.

i didnt buy him for a pet sore. it was a breeder reptile specialist wit his own store. and it was out of my control to health him back. i get up 5 am mon-fri and dont get him till 10pm. wheres the time to be there for a sick baby BP. if i were home more then yea i would of kept him and gotten treatment done. but by me all vets are clsoed on weekends and cloed when i get off work.

This thread, and the other, just makes me sad... I felt I needed to contribute some sort of opinion after several days of watching it progress.

I just wonder... if you are gone that long, and 'all' vets are closed weekends near you, then why on earth do you own any animals?? If the only time you can give them is when you're drained and half awake, and you never have the time to care for them or take them to a vet you shouldn't have them. Animals are great companions...but they are just that: companions. Having pets just to have them is not the way to go.

Gotta agree here. What do you plan to do if this snake needs vet care? Trade it in too?

I find it hard to believe you couldn't find time to take care of the first one, since you made time Friday mid-day to trade him in.

As a responsible owner you must not only be able to provide financially for your animal but you must also have the time to commit to your animal, otherwise why get an animal. Animal = maintenance = time.
How will you make time for this one if something happen  .

Look the fact is a single pet snake is about the easiest creature on earth to manage for a single, busy person. They really need very little daily care timewise. Makes them a very perfect pet for busy people I figure.

That however does not mean that they require no adjustment of your life, no committment of your time. Any living thing does or one should not willingly take them on. A sick creature deserves the right to immediate and appropriate care! If that means you have to use a vacation day or lose a day of pay....that's just part of responsible pet ownership. A long work day is NO excuse for allowing any living thing to suffer needlessly.

Many of us here work long hours outside our homes or manage very busy households with children, snakes, other pets, volunteer work, spouses. Sorry but you won't find a lot of sympathy for blaming a vet for not being open when you are off work. You make the time or you don't own a pet...simple as that!
