Re: Which Carpet Python?
Quote:
Charlie,
You have one from that striped one! The striped one in that pic is Skunk when he was a bit younger, and before he had met up with any of the ladies. End Quote:
Alright, woo hoo. I thought it was from the other stiped stunner you picked up. Can' t wait for the SkunkxOpal pairing to happen. Skunk is just incredible.
As someone becomes new to a particular snake species it's great to have someone always there to help when you have a need. It's obvious Michael will do this since he is posting here helping with questions. I see him posting on other forums and his attitude reflects what I am saying. I've gotten help from Ben at AAR and they are always willing to help. So, beyond bloodlines, it's a great to have a great tudor available to answer all your questions who's been in it a while. This might be the kind of thing that sets breeders apart and I for one am willing to pay a little extra if comes down to it to get a well bred animal from a great breeder. Unfortunatley, there is a small handful of breeders that I wouldn't buy from even if I liked what they have to sell. Will you be just a number or a repeat customer?
Maybe that's something along the lines of you get what you pay for. It's not only about the money but the great service that's provided.
I hope some of this helps, I was a little tired.
Here's a pic of Skunk offspring: How can you not like something like this?

Re: Which Carpet Python?
I'm not trying to add more confusion to your choice, but if you're looking at carpets, I personally don't think any are nicer than a large CCP. I have a juvie jungle, and they are great too, but my big Coastal is my favorite snake by far.
If size is a big factor though, disregard this.. :D

Re: Which Carpet Python?
heh, my local pet store has a 3' to 4' IJ for 250.00, prolly not gonna take it though.
Im pretty much set on the IJ, unless I find a jungle whose parents were small :) which might be hard to find out, because not many sites or ads post info about parents.

Re: Which Carpet Python?
What is the minimum size cage a full grown IJ would need? I found a 58g which I though was overkill, but it might be lacking in width/height

Re: Which Carpet Python?
According to Anthony Caponetto, they aren't as arboreal as people put them out to be. They are good climbers, but they don't need the hight that arboreal snakes need

Re: Which Carpet Python?
Same here, I thought in the future, when I move out, I was going to get a red tail, but now those JCPs are giving me doubt. The colors on them are fantastic
