It doesn't hurt. I have one biter that has gotten me a few times. I have a hatchling biter too. That is really cute!

Not to hijack the thread. But anyone been bit by a BP and a RTB. I have never been bit by my ball but got bit last week by my RTB. (completely my fault. didn't wash hands completely after touching rat.) Because it hurt but not bad but it sounds owrse then a ball bite. Anyone know what is worse BP or RTB bite. Also it was only a 3' RTB.

BP and RTB of equal size is probably close. I've been bitten by an 8ft BCI and it was brutal. Caught me on a nerve and I had numbness and pain for months.

You may be thinking of vomerine teeth. They are the two rows of teeth on the palate that help in holding prey. I don't see why a retic would need cutting or slashing teeth, when all they do with them is hold on.

Besides, all pythons have similar rear-facing teeth without a distinctive pair of larger teeth that may be confused for fangs.
your right...i saw this a while back and i was reading that this was the teeth setup of all pythons...maybe the two fangs I saw where the big teeth since they dont meet the definition of fangs.

Look you guys need to quit being foolhardy and tell the guy like it is. JeffJr, your risks are low but you should be prepared:
I think he's referring more to the BP bite virgin version........not a bite from a venomous snake.
Jeffjr464, just take it, that if you own a snake, you're eventually going to get bitten. Dwelling or fretting will only make it worse.
Hera biting me was harder than Pi**y Snake's when he'd tag me. She hit a lot harder so my finger was numb for a few minutes, and blue/purple for about a day...but she's an 18 pounder RTB and Pi**y was a 2# ball.
