I have only ever found garters, but supposedly rubber boas live around my area so that would be cool to go on a trip sometime and find one.

    North Florida,

    I've personally seen
    Garter snakes
    Black racers
    Southern Ringnecks
    Eastern Rattlesnake
    Diamondback Rattler
    Pygmy rattler
    Yellow Rat snake
Coral snake (it was a pretty big one, about 18'' long, just down the road!)
    Hognose
Some others I didn't get close enough to positively identify

And I've been told where there are lots of watersnakes that sun themselves, near a spring-fed river about an hour from here, and I'm going back later this week to see if I can find them.

I live in Wisconsin so I've caught fairly decent size Western Fox snakes on the West side of the state and my fair share gartersnakes. When I used to live in Florida as a kid we would run into a fair share of Water Moccassins when fishing in the swamps. Also in Florida every other week it seemed someone would be pulling a released burmese out from under their house.
