This is interesting since the active ingredients in PAM have no neurological effect on people or animals (scientifically proven). They spray this in restraurants (the active ingredient - while people are eating) to make sure there aren't any critters flying around. I have an automatic sprayer in my garage (where my rats are breed) for the past 8 years with no issues and no bugs :D

I was more or less huffing the stuff and never got dizzy or even a headache, my reasoning was if I can smell it or it effects me, then it will do Max 10x's worse. So thats the reason I was sticking my head in his tank and smelling every few hrs till it was clear.....although I wouldn't recommend huffing this, the smell is horible, go get a plastic bag and some helium, got a good time right there... :D :D

i hear ya... my thought (and yes, i should have written in my post LOL) was that with aspen... the balls have the option of going under the substrate to create a hide for themselves (since they are being kept together).
bottom line: either one is going to work :sunny:

ok, i read to spray on the substrate but i never saw anything that says not on a bare tank.

As for how often you should treat, on the can PAM says to treat a tank once a month for 3 months to completely kill off the mites. Good luck.
ok, i really care for my snakes so dont imply that i am going to do things hazerdous to their health. and i did read about the once a month but if i did it on a bare tank i did it wrong and if would not work right?

It will still work...but you want to spray what the snake will come in contact with. So whatever substrate you decided to stick with (newspaper or Aspen) just be sure and spray it (and allow to dry) before putting your snakes back in.

no, that's wrong... don't listen to sean :P you are not supposed to spray the hides or water dish! just the substrate, bin and lid :neener:
